A Weekend of Easter

The Easter Bunny came for a visit in Newmarket while Margot was quietly playing:

There was dancing:

And music:

And also serious egg sorting.

We stumbled upon an Easter Hunt while on a Sunday morning stroll to a nearby Conservation Area:

But the lil' elf much preferred picking up twigs along the way:

Welcome April!

It feels good to begin a new month.
After a "yo-yo weather" March, it's reassuring to be back in the "right" month of April. Today, it rained...charming...

Yesterday, it was nippy, but we enjoyed the sunny afternoon by hanging out in our nearby park Brébeuf. We didn't cover a lot of distance. We rarely do with Margot. It's not about walking as much as we can and as quickly as possible. No. It's about meandering about (sometimes in circles), sitting on the ground,  picking up pinecones, pointing at dogs, soaking in the spring air and the sunshine, kicking the soccer ball, and having tickle sessions. Life moves at a different pace now, but we still have fun!

Happy Spring!

Spring is the one season that is always unpredictable. When March 20th comes rolling in, we're either in snow (most likely) or in summer-like temperatures. This year, it's the latter. The sun feels like mid-May outside, yet the air feels like April.

What I love about Spring:
-the chirping of birds;
-the peeking of crocuses;
-the sending the winter coats off to the dry cleaners;
-the freshness of the air;
-the possibility of "new";
-the micro opening of buds in trees.

It's the season of song, freshness and life!

Little Elf

Margot loves hats. She loves just grabbing hats and putting them on her head, regardless if they are hers or not.
I found her running around the house with my Rikke Hat.

Winter Escape

While the rest of the province was having Spring-like temperatures this weekend; we had fresh snow!

Simon and I went on a little getaway sans toddler near Algonquin Park. It was a nice way to cap off my March break. We relaxed, slept in (until 7:30am!), ate delicious meals, read, knitted (Simon watched), went  snowshoeing on Bear Trail.

Happy March

It's my March break and I'm suppose to be marking essays right now. I have about 60 compositions to correct. I started at 10 am this morning and I have done three so far (it's 10:30 am)
Needless to say, I'd rather do something else: enjoying this sunny morning, knitting , reading Out of Africa, organizing my yoga dvds.
I did my yoga practice this morning, which was lovely! Yoga Today rocks! If I don't do my yoga practice early in the morning, I lose all interest. Before a shower, a cuppa tea and checking my emails, I need to do yoga. If I don't, the day just unwinds and before I know it it's the afternoon and other things take priority.

A new month. I can't believe we're in March already! It just kindda crept up.

Random things (because I love randomness):

Margot loves looking at videos of herself on the computer. This is how we survive the "witching hour":

"It's an odd thing, but anyone who disappears is said to be seen in San Francisco. It must be a delightful city and possess all the attractions of the next world," - Oscar Wilde

When you need to refresh a room, sometimes just moving the furniture around does the job. This is what we did to our bedroom and now it's so inviting: there's a little reading nook, the bare wall isn't so overbearing and there's a little trinket bookcase that use to be our console table.

But now our entrance looks like this. It's a bit empty, but that's alright as Margot excels in reorganizing the baskets full of tuques, mitts, sweaters.
